Yesterday while working on a project my VFP7.0 help went away (poof!). I restarted VFP and still no help. I activated the chm file directly and it works fine. Also around the same time my tasklist and bookmarks quit working. I was able to revive the tasklist and bookmarks by re-setting the file paths in the options dialogs. Once again I saved as default. While I was there I checked on the FoxHelp.chm file and it looked Ok. I also re-set the chm file location and saved default. Still no help with the help file. I re-booted the computer, and still no help, Finally I decided to re-install VFP7.0.

I inserted the CD into the drive and when presented with the various options elected to install VFP7.0. I was notified that I still had VS net installed and could go no further until it was removed. I tried to remove it from the control panel Add/Remove software applet but found it was not there. From here I went to Explorer and confirmed there were still directories remaining on disk so I prompltly deleted them. I tried to install VFP7.0 again and was informed that I still had VS Net on my system and could not proceed until it was removed (sigh). I re-booted the computer again and tried one more time to install, yet the same result.

In all I spent a couple of hours trying to revive the features of VFP7.0 with only partial success and no clue as to what caused this problem in the first place. I would venture a guess that my registry got whacked, but what do I know? I do occasionally run VFP6.0 on this system and it does use the ClassMap program written by Kelly G. Conway. ClassMap re-maps intelledrop entries in the registry so that you can work on different projects with different classes specified for intelledrop. I've got a sneaky suspition that somehow this program may have damaged some VFP7.0 registry entries.

Has anyone else had any experiences like this? What can be done to fix it?

Thanks
