Thanks again Sergey,

I unwittingly started a firestorm here by mentioning that our SBT Pro 5.0 clients may not work so great under XP when it comes out. Two weeks later that comment circulated and turned into something much worse than my initial comment. Now the owner of the company (a Fox guru and advocate himself) wants to know where I got this information and find some confirmation.

You know how the rumor mill can take things out of context. I could mention to someone that I don't feel to well today and a couple of days later someone will tell me how sorry they are to hear I am dying of cancer. It's nuts, I can't mention a concern without it turning into an apocalyptic prediction.

Anyway, if you ever here of any VFP 5.0/WIN XP problems, drop me a line.

Thanks again !!!

>>But I am curious about the ability to run VFP 5.0 apps on XP. Sometime over the last couple of months there was a thread where several people reported that we would not be able to run our VFP 5.0 apps on XP, others did mention that support for VFP 5.0 would be over 12/31/01. My concern is not so much the support but apps running on XP, not only do we have custom apps, but hundreds of clients running SBT Pro Series under VFP 5.0 that we will need to start to approach now regarding an upgrade.

>>I spent hours in the search area, trying everything possible to find the thread, but came up empty. The tough part is that you have to have three letters for every word you search for and I want to bring up everything related to "XP" and I couldn't do that.

>>BTW, I live in Wayne also. My mailing address is Little Falls, but I'm over on RT 23 just as you get off of RT 80 and start north on RT 23.

>>>According to MS Product Support Lifecycle http://support.microsoft.com/directory/lifecycle.asp?sd=gn a six-month notice regarding expiration of support is posted on MS support web site. AFAIK, there was no such notice for any version of Visual Foxpro.

I saw a thread sometime back (couldn't find it in the search) where someone said that VFP 5.0 will not work on Win XP and also mentioned it (VFP 5.0) would not be supported after 12/31/01.
