I thought that the following, which is quoted directly from "The Sunday Sun", Oct. 12, 1997, "Comment" section page 3, was relevant and informative to the issue at hand:
". . . And we're not accepting any entries from Quebec. Sorry, nothing against you nice folks but your province has this nutty law - and it's the only province that does - that says if we give you any prize money we have to fill out a bunch of forms and pay a tax. No way. Sorry. . . ".
This is in relation to a CONTEST that organization is running titled "Got the Write Stuff?".
It is from this, and other similar comments that I have heard before, that I feel it is the Provincial law which is at fault here.
I wish it was otherwise, but when someone is called upon to do MORE work and PAY more money to make something possible, I feel they have a right to say 'no, I won't do that'.
