Mark,

Maybe the good ol USPS has succumbed to the same problem that CanPost has. . .

In order to "compete" in the (more) lucrative FedEx-style business service, our glorious Post Office first started its own similar company, then bought Purolator (in Canada) outright.

Coincidentally, and though always denied by Post Office officials, our "regular" mail services got real slow and sloppy. Now they couldn't be trying to "steer" us to the "premiere" service, could they???

They say no, of course, but I say it is FAR TOO TEMPTING for them to pass up the opportunity. The only way to be SURE that such never happens is to make sure they stay OUT OF THAT BUSINESS.

Could the USPS be aiming similarly??

Cheers,
Jim N

PS I also wonder about things like Campbell's soup (which I assume you also have in the States) selling the regular old-fashioned stuff *and* the Chunky stuff *and* the Homestyle stuff * and some other recent addition. I could see two different styles, but five or six??? Makes you think they don't have much condifence in their soups!
