Hello,

I would like to get some recommendations or suggestions on how you might create/refresh a data mart on a weekly basis. The data mart will be a subset snapshot of an Oracle datawarehouse. I don't know yet whether the datamart will be dropped/re-created every week or if a new datamart will be required every week. The Oracle datawarehouse is on a Linux box and the datamart needs to be in SQL Server 2000 on a W2K server box. The datamart snapshot will consist of approximately a dozen tables of small to moderate size (25 MB to no larger than 1 GB per table). If a table is included, the entire table will be brought over. Both machines are on the same Gigabit network. The datamart will be used for reporting and/or sent to client sites for use in either SS2K or MSDE.

I know there are lots of ways to do this and was wondering what kind of suggestions you folks have.

TIA,
-Isaac
