In Slavic cultures, this name is simply bringing up the image of a big bearded guy up in the clouds, who's throwing thunders like spears. Though, he was later adopted in Christianity as St. Ilija (Eliah) Gromovnik (sic!).
Just another idea: since we're probably on the road to cut our slice of the big pie, Yalta comes to mind. A place where big things happened, which shaped the next fifty years... and it was mostly about how the cake gets sliced.
