I used to run NT on a 266 with 128MB and it wasn't very "fast". As others have said, Win 98 would probably be better (SE that is, not ME).

There is a setting for NT that might help though: it's "optimize for Foreground processing" (vs background processing). I "think" you can get at the setting via Control Panel | System | Performance ... (It's been a while).

Another thing: reduce the memory for VFP with SYS(3050). With NT, VFP grabs so much memory that the swap file, virtual memory, etc. all go out of proportion with what is really required by the app. Trying capping VFP at 16MB and go from there.
