Hi!
Select the project manager 'databases' tab. Expand it, select the database. 4th button is 'Open' or 'Close'. Press Open to open database (do not expand the database, it should be collapsed). This opens the database. Try to close database from the command window. This will fail, because project manager controls the database. Use close to close that database.
Well, when you collapse database and exit project/manager then open it again, database is not open. However, why re-open project when you can just use 'Close' button in project manager? BTW, Close button collapses database in tree automatically.

>Can you clarify this? I don't see what Close button you mean that will close the database and keep it from reopening. I must be missing something obvious.

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
