>When trying to install VFP 7 on a Win98 box it hangs after the copying of 49 files message (The Component Update installed fine). I tried closing everything and only had explorer, rundll, and setup running. I know its something specific to my machine but don't know what to do. Any ideas (I've been suggesting a new PC <g>)?

Try copying the CD content to your hard drive and install from there. There may be a problem with the CD (you didn't say if it was successful elsewhere). The copy may show that there is a problem.
