So I re-submit (it was 2nd or 3rd in, originally) Rubicon". When Julius Caesar "crossed the Rubicon" he was now irrevocably committed to a battle. So the phrase "crossed the Rubicon" is now synonymous with "fully committed", which I think is apt.
