I ran into what seems like a similar problem during the VFP7 beta on a Windows 2000 Pro machine on which quite a few beta and interim builds of VS.NET and VFP7 had been installed/uninstalled. On that machine, F1 or Help in the Command Window would start a process for foxhhelp7.exe, but the help viewer would not display.
Did you have a beta version of VFP7, or beta version of VS.NET installed on this machine, prior to installing the VFP7 release version?
In my case, on that particular box, I was able to solve the problem by running RegClean.
Let me know whether you had a beta version previously installed, and we can go from there.
Also, I didn't see anywhere in this or the earlier thread that you had mentioned your OS or other installed software, like MSDN or VFP6/VS6. These may be good to know also.
