My role I think is more of analyst. I actually solve business problems in the work I do. They always want me to come up with some solution where I need to parse some data file then write an APP for endusers to load the data then print out various type of reports. I also go so far as getting data from the data warehouse we have here in Oracle. No I don't know Oracle but I know enough to be dangerous. The know none so I am God to them. I don't think that way though. I also trouble shoot PC problems. I also had to learn the programming language to Extra Personal Client. This is the program we use to interface with a mainframe at another compnay. I written numerous macros that allows the user to kick them off then sit back and cool out while the PC and the macro does the work for them. In some cases it just goes out and prints out the account data info screens. In others it grabs the same data and puts it in a file. Then Foxpro grabs the file and stick in a table for further use in some reports etc. Some of the other macros actually go out and correct info on the screens so the rep does not have to key anything. I have also written numerous other VFP and Macros to help with gathering data for daily and monthly reports.

They come to me for any equipment and software suggestions or needs. Ifigure out what they need to get the job done and go out and buy it and install. We have an Oracle group and a helpdesk group. They did not have anyone that knew FoxPro in the company. They didn't want to take the time to learn it either. So they hired me.

I also set up FTP sites for incoming data. I install bank proprietary software and set up file delivery through them.

What ever comes up, I do. I make around the lower lever of the salary range you gave. I figure I am short about 20,000 to 30,000 a year in this position. The higher would put me above my boss. I am a second level manager and she is Director.

I end up maintaing all of this stuff also. Any changes and/or additions I do. Nope, I have no help with all of this. There is a guy here that knows a little Foxpro 2.5. He pretty much takes forever to do very small task. You usually makes a mess of it and then runs over to me . I am ot frustrated but just looking for my fair share.
