Sounds like the project or some component is corrupted. Projects, forms, class libraries, reports, and menus are really tables with different extensions. Try to open the project as a table ("use "). If that opens then one of the components is corrupted.

I think Stonefield tools could repair the bad file. If not, your only option may be to restore the bad file from a backup. Worst case you might have to re-create it.
