There should be a built in compressed font (Courier) that prints 17 characters per inch (I don't know whether that is 8 point or not). The printer should be able to print much faster this way.

Still, the upside would be the possibility to use FPD2.6 report writer for this. I just tried one of my old reports, and it worked - you can run a DOS report without conversion in VFP6. The results of such report can be redirected into a file, and the file could be printed with RawPrint (available here in Files section) or just the ??? command. You may embed printing controls into fields on the report (things like chr(18), chr(15), chr(27)+'W1' etc), or just use the good old _pdriver stuff (not sure whether it's still there in current version of VFP).
