I had a similar problem with Windows 95 Rev. b and it turned out to be the DCOM95 was not installed. Once I update the workstation, all was fine. Try installing latest service pack for Win2K (Service Pack 2) and that should fix your problem.?.
The problem with C0000005 errors, is that it is very generic. It generally means a problem with video memory, as I found a memory leak with refreshes on a program we had. You might also check your video drivers for Win2K updates as well.

HTH,
Robert
