Go to the server (NT 4.0) and use server manager to create an account for the laptop running Win2K. Then the laptop should be able to log in. I am running the same setup as we chose not to use Win2K active directory as yet, so our servers are also NT 4. I don't know why, but when you create an account at the server for the Win2K computer, the whole thing works without a hitch. The same computer can create its own account on a Win2k server, just a MS has described.
