Mark,
You don't need Excel to create an Excel spreadsheet file. The COPY TO command supports exporting a VFP view result to an XLS or XL5 (or some such thing) which is Excel. I do have Office, so have Excel by default, but my experimenting with it was trying to link an Excel spreadsheet type file that I created in a VFP program to a MS Graph object.
