>We are running windows 2000 small business server. We are running DHCP,DNS,WINS,Exchange,Active directory, terminal server on a dell twin processor with 768mb ram, 768mb of virtual memory. This is always been a problem since we got the server in May, the only reason I have only resently noticed its a problem, is that my main role is a programmer and the network administration was given to me because I had some knowledge of networking. The reason I think its always been a problem because the windows 95/98/me machines have always had problems logging in. I have created this morning a lmhost file for these machines but I would like to resolve the wins problems

How is your name resolution working? Can you ping the server and clients by name and IP? What does you "ipconfig /all" look like from a client with problems?
Also check your binding order in network configuration to verify that the
first NIC (internal) is listed first on all protocols, that the second
(external) nic is listed next, and the wan wrappers in any order after
that. Also verify that the Wins Client (TPC/IP) is NOT bound to the
external NIC, and that the LAT table only included the INTERNAL nic's.
Haven't got any SBS 2000 experience here, just with 4.0/4.5. As far as AD is concerned, I have no help to offer.
