>>>I have a form that is opened by a command button on another form. Once this form is open, you can see the original form behind it, but you cannot click on the original form to activate it without closing the form, with one exception. When we have this form open and click on the windows desktop, then click on the original form, that form comes forward, and will not allow you to click on the form it opened, though you can see it, thus locking the program.

>>Hi Susan,

>>Not knowing all your settings it's hard to pinpoint exact causes, but you have at least one conflicting setting. Modal has no meaning for Top Level forms, so you may have some conflicting requirements on the forms. What configuration for the forms and their interaction are you trying to achieve?

>Hey Bill,

>Thank you for replying. The main thing that I am wanting the form to do is to be on top, with no other form being able to be accessed while it is open. Currently, if I have this form initially opened, I cannot click on the other base forms to move to them, which is correct. If I click the desktop and this form, it also performs correctly. The problem occurs when I click the desktop, then click the form under it to bring the program back to the front, then I lose this form and it locks the program.

>Unfortunatly, I was brought in to maintain this program, and was not part of the original design team. I am not sure what the best way would be to configure the form. Thank you for any help you can provide.

That's a modal form is for. Make this form modal and remove always on top, and top level form.
