Several detained in terror attacks

Boston police enter the Westin Hotel where several people were taken into custody.

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- A day after catastrophic strikes on two renowned symbols of American power, law enforcement sources say officers in Boston and southern Florida took several men into custody in connection with the attacks.

Several people were detained in Venice and Vero Beach, Florida, and at the Westin Hotel in Boston's Copley Square. Police said the men have not been arrested and did not describe them as suspects. Boston police say the detainees may offer "important material information." The Florida detainees are thought to have connections to flight schools in the area.

Meanwhile, the search for survivors continues in the rubble at New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
