I don't replace kornid at all..?? It does a seek on another unique key and replaces the skaal, tara and weight -fields. It should not replace any other values. What has happened is that it read the record from one physical place and stored it over another record and replacing the first place with chr(0)'s.
But I can of course check that the record found has the correct key stored.
There is actually 3 keys and one of them which is either blank or unique is regurarly changed as they reuse the glass the put the grains into on the weight. This key is given a new value in the operation I think moved the record. And this key is displayed using the field as a controlsource. Perhaps something could go wrong here? But the kornid is never updated or displayed except in some read-only browse..
>From your descriptions I understand that your application regularly changes an existing key value (kornid) to another value. For instance, record 4430 has kornid of 13520 and record# 4432 has kornid 13522.
