The thing that I fear the most is that some slick willy lawyer will come forward once there are some suspects in custody who will be there to "protect their rights" and thus prevent the "extraction" of some important information.

I never had much use for Trudeau, but the "War Measures Act" that he invoked during the FLQ crisis seems to be applicable here, and least in terms of suspending certain rights ... as appropriate.
