>My question: Why are we (America) so hated by some Arabs and Muslims?

It's a hard-to-tell feeling. They feel you are invading their personal and national space. The arabians are completely different people as you are. There are a lot of cultural differences between you and them.

I want to remind you the former Soviet Union adventure in Afganistan: Soviet Union tried to install a communist government there, by force. And they failed, even their policy was much tougher as US one. 'This is a civilian place? Aha. How many people? 150.000? Aha. So what? Raze it. They'll learn to fear.'

And they didn't.

They simply stand up and fight. They give their lives for their country and for their religion. They even fight with WWII weapons against modern war helicopters.

Your interventions in the Middle East turned them into your enemy. And they are indeed a ruthless enemy, because they don't forget and don't forgive. They are born and educated in this way.

There is no other special reason for their hate but the power you have and (I'm sorry) you show.

Also, do not forget they are speaking almost the same language and they feel closely related one to each other. And the Iraq war was not forget, and I doubt if it will be in the near future. Because Egipt (an arabian country) is your aliate (or smth.) there, they have the same feelings about them, too. At least, you are not alone in this.

But primarily, the reasons are:

a) Enormous cultural difference between nations
b) That so-called "american arogance"
c) The way they see the human life and it's price.

Those hijackers are dead, now. But I'm confident there still are a lot of people ready and willing to die for their cause. It's a bad cause, but, unfortunatelly, only the rest of the world think in such way. For them is Jihad (holy war).

This attack is a coward one. I will stand for this oppinion. But again, they see this attack as a major victory. It's your duty to stop this flagel to extending, at least in your own country.

As last line of my message:

I am deeply sorry for what's happened. I have no words to describe the shock I've felt watching the news. I really hope you, as nation, will recover and get even stronger.
