In the old days of FoxPro-DOS, there were options to include, or not, page breaks before and after. Printing from Windows, if I understand correctly, is "page-based" - an entire page has to be printed. You can't print a part of a page.
However, if you create a text file and send it (directly) to the printer with "???", you have control over page-breaks. Printing would also be faster on some printers (especially dot-matrix printers, like the popular Epson models).
