I know how that goes - I was at that point a few years ago. Learning about OOP and a new framework was pretty rough going. I was just coming back into programming after not doing any for a very long time (my last "major" amount of coding was done under FoxBase with a little bit of VFP 3 a few years later). The learning curve for me was pretty steep.

A few suggestions: If you haven't read Advanced Object Oriented Programming with VFP 6 (Markus Egger/Hentzenwerk Publishing), I'd suggest buying it and reading it. It has an excellent introduction to OOP. I also spent a lot of time reading and rereading the MM's manual. In fact, the manual was the major reason I bought MM's over some of the other frameworks. It really does a nice job explaining concepts and giving step-by-step instructions.

I've heard good things about the MM's training, so you might want to consider that if your company is willing to spring for it. I caught a product demo Kevin gave in New Orleans. He's a great speaker/trainer.

You might also find yourself in a situations where you are writing code to "work around" things in the framework, or something feels like it is very difficult to do. I ran into the same things when I started out. It took me a while to realize it was because I didn't understand what the framework was doing. Once I stopped "fighting" the framework, I was much happier and a lot more productive.

I think you will find the framework is very well designed and very flexible. I know I've taken a lot of the ideas used in the framework and applied them to a lot of my applications. I really think it's made me a better programmer. Hopefully you'll be as lucky.
