>>You say, "let's take this to them and make them pay dearly", how do you make a group of people who are prepared to die for their beliefs pay dearly. You can't use the threat of death, do you use the threat of making their families suffer - doesn't this make you as bad as them.

>One of the things that Bush wants to achieve is to stop the Terrorism, and this will mean effectively getting rid of the Terrorists (in whatever manner). Unfortunately, like you say, you can't make them pay if they are already prepared to die, all you can do is put a stop to it - and this is surely the main issue here.

We make a big fuss about Human Rights in this country, now there is a relatively small amount of suffering in America (current estimates 5000 dead, compared to 240000 killed by the 2 atom bombs in Japan just over 50 years ago), we decide to throw it all away.

I believe that they were totally wrong in what they did, but I do not believe that we should go to the extent of lowering ourselves to their level, that is revenge, not justice. It solves nothing, it might make you think you'll feel better, but it will probably make you feel worse.

And how do you propose to stop further acts, kill all of the fundamentalist Muslims (remembering, of course, at this moment we don't know who, what or why), I seem to remember not too long ago, Adolf Hitler thought Jews were a threat & tried to take that action against them.
