I think that is acceptable use. All I know is MS will not sell their software the way other companies will. WE have purchased a 10-user license for a 100 user network, installed the software on the server and limited the number of concurrent users of the software. This meets their license requirements of no more than 10 users using the product at any 1 time.

Usually MS requires that a single license product be installed on only 1 computer. If you install their software on a server, you have to set up access so only 1 user can use the software at a time. MS does not design their software to track this for you, like Lotus does and some other software companies. Lotus has a built-in counter to track concurrent users. MS does not.

What we do sometimes, is to create a generic [Novell] user specific to an application that the user has to login as to run the application. That user is restricted to a specific number of network connections that matches the number of licenses we have for the product. This is very effective in not violation license agreements.
