Use the grid reconstruction behaviour ;)
Tr following code and let us know if it works:

* close old alias
select (Grid.RecordSource)
use
* here grid lose all its columns
Grid.ColumnCount = -1
Grid.RecordSource = "NewAlias"
Grid.Refresh
