Are you sure code in the Valid event running at all? Did you tried to put messagebox("Somtheing") in the Valid event ans see what happens? It should work. If it does not works, then probably your grid lost all columns and code in them because reconstruction. Read the "VFP Grids" artcile in the August Universal Thread Magazine (http://www.levelextreme.com/Magazine/August2001/), maybe you will find answer there.

Also, to do complex validation you can use AfterRowColChange event of the grid.
