James;

I am sure you could go into many Sports Bars in the United States and hear some interesting “solutions” to terrorism in the World. Without the cooperation of the entire civilized World, terrorism will not be stopped.

Take the teachings of Mao Tze Tung, on gorilla warfare, and change the word “gorilla” to “terrorist”. Mao said “as long as there is one gorilla, there is war”! You do not know what is in the minds of anyone – only his/her actions.

If we destroy the training camps of known terrorists, they will only go underground. Cutting off all funding would put a dent in terrorist activities. Removing known terrorist leaders would help – for a while, until they were replaced.

Communications is a part of the solution to carrying out successful terrorist activities. Telephones, Internet, etc. are used. It also part of the solution to stop or at least know after the fact who did what. We will see a lot more electronic surveillance than ever before, and it will take forms never dreamed of previously. Part of my United States Air Force Career was spent in the Security Service. I have some concept of what is going on to detect any electronic means to communicate. There are many “fingerprints” left by any electronic communications.

The World will never be the same after the events of this week on the East Coast of the United States. We should pray for the victims of the tragedy and for peace in the World. This event could be the catalyst for eradicating terrorism throughout the World or the end of the Earth. The choice will be up to a few men, some of whom we have never heard of.

Tom
