We are engendering the same welfare mentallity here, as I'm sure you are quite aware of. Here in Utah; the ostensible capital of pro-family culture there are just as many who worship Baal (materialism) materialism at the expense of their families as anywhere else, with the correspondingly high divorce rates. Children (and enabling parents I might add) who have no notion whatsoever of that which induces character.

Hopefully, with the last couple of years' worth of welfare role reductions we're starting to head in the proper direction. Now all we need to do is freeze government spending for 3-4 years at current levels... <g>
