The next LA Fox meeting is this Tuesday, September 18 (a special day for
this month only -- our meetings are usually on the second Tuesday of each
month). Sign in at the new NCR guard station on the 12th floor and they
will then send you to the 14th floor with their card keys.

VFP Jump Start topic from 7:00-7:30...
This month the Jump Start time will be used to present a report of the VFP
Developer's Conference held in San Diego this week. We had at least 18 LA
Fox members at DevCon so there will be a lot of people to fill you in if you
didn't attend the conference.

Regular meeting beginning at 7:30...
The new product manager for Visual FoxPro, Ken Levy, will be our main
speaker this month. Ken will speak on the State and Future of Visual
FoxPro. You will all enjoy this since Ken's motto is 'The best is yet to
come'. (I was at the VFP DevCon this week and I believe him.) So, come and
join us this Tuesday evening for our meeting ... attendance is free to all
visitors this month so it's a great opportunity to check out LA Fox and hear
about the plans for the future of VFP. Please see www.lafox.org for further

Pizza...
Once again we will be having pizza during our meeting on September 18, 2001.
We are asking anyone who wishes to eat pizza contribute $5 to help pay for
it. I will order the pizzas prior to the meeting so if you would like to
have dinner during the meeting please reply to this message so I can get
some idea of how many pizzas to order. Pizza will arrive at about 7:30.

Current discount offers...
We have arranged another book deal with Hentzenwerke Publishing. We need to
get a minimum of 20 books and we will receive a 30% discount on each book.
So start thinking about what new books you may need. See
www.hentzenwerke.com for available books. I should have order forms
available at the meeting on Tuesday and of course I can always email you one
if necessary. You must be a paid member to participate.

We are also trying to determine the best place to buy VFP 7.0 upgrades or
original copies. We'll keep you posted on this ... if you have found a
great price please let us know.

Directions to the meeting...

NCR Building
100 N. Sepulveda Blvd.
El Segundo, CA

Please see www.lafox.org for a map if you need directions to NCR. You must
be traveling North on Sepulveda Blvd. in order to enter the parking garage
(there's a large driveway in about the middle of the block where the 3
towers stand between El Segundo Blvd. and Grand). Once you enter the
garage, turn right into Visitor parking. Take a ticket and proceed to
almost the end of the garage (the parking attendant leaves at 8:00 pm so the
parking garage guards will let you out for free -- you just press a button
and place your ticket in a basket). There is a set of elevators right there
so take the elevator to the plaza level, exit the elevator and turn toward
the right. Follow the walkway into the building (through the construction),
continue straight down the hallway until you reach a guard station on the
left. By that guard station there are several elevators. Take one of these
elevators to the 12th floor, sign in at the NCR guard station and they will
use their badge to let you get on the elevator to the 14th floor. Look for
signs when you get off the elevator on the 14th floor to direct you to the
room.
