This isn't sarcasm... It's honest curiosity. How does this sentiment fit in with the whole "turn the other cheek" bit?

Many, as do I, believe it is a sin against God to not defend yourself in order to save your own life even if it means killing another person. To submit and not fight for your life is considered to mean you consider your own life not worthy which is sinful in the eyes of the Lord. The bastards who did this are not men/women of God.
