I don't know much about this, but I thought I heard at one time that VFP's GUI, etc, is proprietary and not standard like other Windows apps. Is this true?? If so, is this why VFP can be so unstable at times?? It is sooooo sad to be losing so much confidence in such a wonderful application. The last thing I want to do is have to abandon VFP because of this.

Joel,
You should consider going back to VFP6, perhaps. It's starting to look very much like a few key fixes are going to be required to get VFP stable for many developers.
good luck,
