Unfortunately, the outcome of this was decided in just a few hours. How long did it take after the attack untill the words "will be punished, but also those who harbor them" were spoken.

Pardon my insufficient sources of information, but one has only one pair of eyes and can really watch only one channel at a time. My, thus limited, impression is that the direct calls from the viewers were aired only in the first couple of hours. One lady specifically said "my greatest fear is the government may do something stupid now". After that, it was only the professionals... and if it went live, it was reporters. Obviously, the story making machinery gained momentum, and while voices of dissent may be heard here and there, they are lost in the mainstream line. Yesterday I saw a presbyterian priest who spoke with a lot of common sense, but was interrupted by the host several times. You have one shot to guess who was advocating which solution.

Beware, my American friends, for I've seen how this "IT" machinery works. At some point I was almost close to justify military measures taken in Croatia, having seen all the dead and wounded. But then, the informational bubble didn't last long, at least for us who were online. The truth was emerging, but not reaching more than a couple of percent of people, and nwew layers of lies were added daily.

I see all symptoms of vast manipulation being afoot. The good and balanced approach that I saw on PBS yesterday is just an exception; and how many people are watching it, at all? Milosevic had always allowed for publishing of different opinions, but made damn sure you don't reach more than a few hundred people.

So take everything with a grain of salt, and don't be taken where you don't want to go.
