Randy,

Did you try setting the default font for the report to a fixed-width font? (Report | Default Font...) Mine show WISIWIG. Also, the Layout toolbar is pretty helpful, allowing you to align a bunch of controls.

>I need to develop some reports for a customer using an old Epson dot-matrix printer (customer requirement, I have no ability to specify or force a different printer, although I did recommend they upgrade to even a rudimentary laser of some sort). I installed the printer driver on my system so I can select the actual printer fonts for formatting, which is fine, except the screen fonts are still proportional and aligning things is next to impossible. Is there a trick to this? Or is my best bet to skip the report writer altogether and do it the old-fashioned way with ?/?? command? I've done it that way in the past, but in this case, for some of the reports anyway, I would prefer NOT to, as the reports comprise MANY pages with data divided into 15 groups, each with a group header and summaries, something easily handled in the report writer.
