ODBC version problem???

Hi there.

I have now updated my pc to VFP7. But now I cannot access a client's SQL server (sql6.5) using my odbc.

Access to it was working fine previous to the install of VFP ... which seems to have updated my ODBC..

Here are the odbc version numbers from before and after the VFP7 install...on my pc ...

About\Administrator: Old - 3.520.4403.2 New - 3.520.6526.0
Drivers\SQL Server: Old - 3.70.08.20 New - 2000.80.194.00

Now when I try to connect odbc (control panel) to the sql server ... I just timeout. And on the sql server there is an event that indicates that it cannot read the login packets.

My ODBC connection to the sql server is configured to use TCPIP.

Interestingly enough, this particular server has multiprotocol installed, and if I change my pc to use multiprotocol ... I can access that server.

I need to use TCPIP as not all servers have Multiprotocol installed.

Can someone with more experience in this area please explain to me what is wrong and how I can correct this situation?

TIA, Scott Barker
