The first thing that comes to mind is to load the exe on the computer and don't run it from the server. Second thing you might look at is whether there is an anti-virus program running on the server. If so, turn it off. Last, look at the resources for the server, network utilization, bandwidth issues, routers, switches, hubs, etc.

There's no 'fix' for this... if this works for some, it should work for all. The only difference is the environment in which the systems reside.
