Hi,

Yes, we set it to 'Scan all files'. Seems strange but we think that its slow in the otherway because the virus scanning routine has to keep checking to see if the file SHOULD be scanned. Whereas if set to 'All' it just scans it without having the extra work of finding out if it is needed to be scanned.

We only set it to 'Scan all files' in the Auto-Protect. The Manual Scan is still set 'Program files and documents only (recommended)' with the list of file/document extensions to check/scan.

>>With Sergey Berezniker pointing out the issue with anti-virus softwares, we started comparing the configuration setting of the anti-virus software we were using (Norton Anti-virus). We found out that the workstation with the best connect performance all the time had the 'File types to scan' option set to 'All files' in the Auto-Protect tree. The workstations that were slow in connecting had it set to 'Program files and documents only (recommended)' with the list of file/document extensions to check/scan.

>Are you sure that you change to 'Scan All Files'? It seems that opposite should be faster because it doesnt check tables/indexes.

>>P.S.: Should this go to the FAQ section too?
