Kevin,

Your thread title reads backwards to me.

>I need to provide our sales/mktg group with a bullet-point list of benefits of upgrading a VFP application (using VFP tables) to a VFP front-end that uses SQL Server. (We need to do a sell job to our existing clients).

This one is doubtful, though it can be true. Will those customers have a dedicated (or even available, I suppose) SQL Server guru to make/keep performance at optimum?

>- Support for larger databases
Will your customers grow beyond 2 gigs per table? If not, what are you "selling"?

>- Potentially better integration with other internal financial applications
That would suggest that they already use SQL Server. Else, again, what are you selling?

>- Better security
That's likely true, provided that it is fully understood and religiously practised.

>- Dramatically reduced incidents of file/index/memo file corruption
If they're having such problems now then they likely have a training issue or do not use options available (hardware-wise) to conpensate for poor power quality. I suppose that application design can also be a factor here and it may be true that SQL Server does not > supposrt some of the things that you are doing now.

JimN
