I found another way that has been acceptable to me:

1) Remove from Startup
2) Change the interval to be 999 days

It's been a couple of years, but that's how I remember it, and it has ceased to be a problem.

I hate it when MS gives us "a tool" yet doesn't tell us what it's for!
