Mike;

No sarcasm meant and thus the :) and you communicated with me. Perhaps you missed the last part “I never could set a speed record on the Pacific Coast Hiway, but it is one heck of a view!”

In fact you may have missed the part about our recent trip to Oregon, and comments about Silicon Valley.

>Gee, Mike, too bad there is no nice scenery to enjoy along that route. It might have taken you longer if there had been. :) We just got back from a trip to Oregon, where my father was raised and I was stationed in the Air Force for a while. I am so glad there is more to “the world” than Silicon Valley, where I live.

>I never could set a speed record on the Pacific Coast Hiway, but it is one heck of a view!

The nice thing about I-5 in general is it "gets you there". The Coast Hiway takes time and is worth the effort if you want to enjoy all there is to see. The way my life is I rarely get to go the Coast route and have to use I-5. Taking a "few minutes" off of your life to enjoy the view is worth the effort. It helps to recharge the batteries, just like my wife and I did from our recent trip up North.

By the way I took two cameras – one digital and the other 35mm. I wanted to take my big Pentax 6 X 7 cm camera and wish I did! We had a blast and will return soon!

Now I am sure someone will complain that I dared to suggest through implication (Coast Hiway) that Coastal Hills, Ocean, and Redwood Trees are nothing to look at or to be enjoyed. I know one member of the UT who has already told me those things. To each his/her own.

Tom
