>>>Yuanitta, Brenda Erickson (from Edmonton, Alberta), and I decided to drive after Yuanitta's flight was cancelled for the second time and my flight was cancelled with no clear indication of when I'd be able to leave. It took us 2 1/2 days to drive the 2100 miles home; we decided not to push ourselves too hard and enjoy the scenery. I arrived home Sunday night at 10:30 after dropping Brenda and Yuanitta off at their respective destinations.

>Many of us take air travel and transportation in general for granted. We are a bit sensitive about this topic at present. I never cease to be amazed at how people in North America around the 1840’s as an example, traveled vast distances. Not everyone of course, but it was done by a number of persons who either wrote books or books were written about them.

Do you think it is because today business never sleeps? It is every second of the day, every day of the year. I remember in my youth the fact that businesses were closed on Sunday (blue laws), only theaters and amusement parks, sporting events, and emergency rooms were active during weekends.

The pace of business is getting too hectic.
