Hi Gary,
Thanks for the encouraging words.

In FP20-26 I've mostly used memo fields instead of child tables. It's displayed in an editbox with a separate textbox above for each "field" in the editbox. The memo field is loaded into an array and the heavy lifting for adds, changes,& deletes is done working with the array. Then it's sorted and saved back into the memo field. Have used this for 10 years in many sytems with only one corrupt memo file. Have also corverted it to VFP6.
However . . . in the interest of "relational database-ology", I'm attempting to use DBC's, views, and child tables. After your comment about grids, am thinking of using listboxes with individual fields above each "field" in the listbox.
You said "don't think grids are viable for data entry when you consider what you can do with navigation controls."
Please expand on "navigation controls".
On the subject of Codemine users swapping ideas, etc . . . I wonder if we could get mike F. from the UT to set up a category for Codemine. Other frameworks have their own category (I think). Have had 2 other replies to this posting and have a feeling that this could be a dynamic forum.
