Hi All,

I have a program that runs 24/7. This program will connect to a VFP database via the VFP ODBC. It is in VFP6 SP3. The program will connect every minute and check a table to see if there are any tasks that it must execute. Then disconnect after getting the information. The tasks are to ‘RUN’ other executable programs that were also created in VFP6. What I have noticed is that when the program is initially turned on. It takes up about 4000k of memory on the computer where it runs. After a day or so of continuous running it takes up about 28000k of memory. This program used to work directly with open database and tables. In stead of using SPT. When it ran that way the program never required more memory space.

My question is: Does the continuous connecting & disconnecting hold some part of the connection in memory? If so, How can I clear this wasted memory? I tried to RELEASE the form property that holds the connection handle. But that did not work. Any ideas?

TIA
Mike
