The days bit is easy, once you have the month: generate the 1st of the next month, subtract one and compare it against the date you have. Alternatively, just build a date string and convert it to a date: if it's not {//} you have a valid date. Alternatively, I might have lost the plot here entirely and misinterpreted your message!.
>this sure seems to be the "right" thing to do. Even if I separate the three fields they must still be checked for validity. Months and years are easy but days are a little tedious. Good suggestion.
