>>>In reality we hear little of what happens in the world. An event may be local or international in scope and make the headlines. Very often no follow up is given to a story so we do not know the outcome.

>>>About 10 years ago the news was reporting three nations who were having "wars". In reality there were 58 nations at war during that period.

>>The openness of the Internet during the last 8-10 years has been one of the most refreshing and informatative periods in the FREE world. But, alas, even our own Congress is talking censorship. ISPs are moderating posting to eliminate law suites, etc... All suffer loss of freedoms of expression because a few don't like what others say and use their money and clout to shut them down. It was nice while it lasted.

If you format the content nicely, what you have to say will be attractive thus more "believable". Finding the truth from any source is difficult. The Internet makes it easier “to get your message across”. No problems with publishers or distribution – you will have an audience. Your views true or otherwise are thus “fact”. Just as “factual” as any other news source perhaps.

From what I watched on satellite news feeds for the major outlets, before they encrypted them, you can bet your not getting as much news everynight at 5 or 6 pm. What you say about 'anything coming from the Internet' being suspect is true, as is anything coming from Dan, Peter, or whom ever. I've noticed that the Drudge Report is being quoted by major sources now, and they even quote the National Enquirer, Star, etc, sources I'd never consider...

But, the nice thing about the web is that you don't have to rely on just one source. I even read english versions of news from China, Cuba, Russia, Afghan, England, Germany and Austrialia, to name a few. Usually the anti-democracy, anti-US sites will say the worse they can with the support of known facts, then pile on the extrapolations. They often include stories never mentioned in the American press. Having access to these sites, which I can print copies from and check sources against, is very nice. It helped sort out the Whitehoue bull those four times Clinton used the military to distract voters and the judicuary from his legal problems. Some would suggest he wagged the dog.

BTW, my son met a girl on the web... and they were married two months ago after a year of dating (long distance dates are expensive!). She is a super gal, a pharmicist, with a seven year old boy who is a near genius and has a wonderful personality!
