Yes, we found it extremely funny, based on the consistently cr*p performance of the English cricket team over the last, ooh, 50 years, that anyone would think it necessary to pay. Personally I think it was a rumour spread by the English team to excuse their atrocious playing. There have been a few court cases and no player has been found guilty (of taking bribes, not bad play).

I think cricket is nearly impossible to rig, it takes place over 1-3 days, involves so many players and has rules akin to a minor branch of Quantum theory.
