Mike is correct in that haivng VFP compile to native code would not result in any performance gains, it is alrady optimized compiled p-code and all significant functions would have to call out to a DLL and execute at the same speed as they do now.
The Fox team (and Microsoft in general) does not comment on features of unannounced products, unless we specifically show or discuss them like we did at DevCon a few weeks ago showing just a few sneak preview features of Toledo (VFP .next). That keynote video will be available for online viewing at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro in a week or two. People posting messages here on the UT or in the WishList section or on the Wiki or who email Microsoft about enhancement requests for the upcoming versions of VFP should not expect to get any reply or comments from Microsoft. That doesn't mean we don't review requests, the fact is that we do. Thanks.
