Part of the problem is that there can be considerably more to registration than simply running REGSRV32 against the OCX - it is not uncommon to have an OCX which is dependent on other files - other DLLs/OCXs typically, that must be in place for registration to succeed, and in many cases, where several components must be registered, it's not uncommon that the order of registration is important - you can't register component B until component A has been registered previously.
